How we make money

swimmingpoolbuilders.co.za is editorially independent but it isn't free to run. We support the site through three revenue streams:

• Affiliate commissions — when a reader clicks an affiliate link on our site and goes on to transact with the partner (for example a pool chemicals retailer, a builder directory or a finance product), we may earn a commission. There is no extra cost to you.
• Display advertising — we serve programmatic ads via Google AdSense, only to readers who have consented to advertising cookies.
• Sponsored content — occasionally a partner pays us to publish an article. These are clearly labelled "Sponsored" at the top of the page and are not written or approved by our editorial team.

How affiliate links are chosen

Editorial recommendations are made first; affiliate links are added only where a partner exists for a product we already recommend. We do not promote a product because it pays a commission, and we will recommend a non-affiliate alternative where it is genuinely the better choice. If we cannot find an honest reason to recommend something, we don't link to it — even if the commission is generous.

How you can spot them

Affiliate links may be marked with "(affiliate)" inline or grouped under sections labelled "Recommended partners". Pages that contain a meaningful number of affiliate links display a disclosure block above the fold so you know before you start reading.

Builder listings & profiles

Where we list pool builders, listings are not paid placements unless explicitly marked as such. Builder profiles include user-submitted content; we do not warrant the accuracy of any builder's claims and recommend you verify CIDB grading, insurance and references directly with the builder before contracting.

If you spot a link or claim that you think breaches our editorial independence, please email editor@swimmingpoolbuilders.co.za. Verified breaches are corrected within five working days and the correction is noted on the page.
